I will join Utah State University as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science in July 2024 and am looking for students at all levels:
a) Ph.D. students starting Spring/Fall 2025 to join our team with a solid background in AI or computing-related disciplines and a specific interest in educational research.
b) Research interns (at all levels, unpaid) interested in pursuing AI in education or computing education research in the near future. Priorities will be given to students interested in my Ph.D. positions at a later date.
Research Topics: AI in Education, Computing Education, Human-Centered Computing.
Educational Data Mining in Computer Science Education (CSEDM) and Learning Analytics in CS/AI/STEM Education, especially educational theory-driven model design.
Computing Education Research (CER), with an emphasis on the design and evaluation of automated hint/feedback systems in computing education.
Large Language Models in Computing Education, including LLM's application, adaptation, and impact in computing education.

[Career] 03/29/2024: I have accepted the offer from Utah State University and will join the Department of Computer Science as an Assistant Professor starting July 1st, 2024. Thanks all for your support and help! Now looking for students interested in joining my group starting Spring/Fall 2025.
